A Trailer That Can’t Pass Inspection Hauls Nothing

Yuma’s freight lives and dies by its trailers — dry vans staging at the coolers, flatbeds hauling equipment between fields, reefers cycling through the produce sheds from November to March. When one fails — lights dead, doors jammed, a brake dragging, a liftgate stuck halfway — the load doesn’t care whose side of the kingpin the problem is on. We repair trailers where they sit, so a small-parts problem doesn’t cost you a full day’s revenue.

Electrical & Lighting

The single most common trailer failure, and the one inspectors catch first. We chase shorts and opens through harnesses, replace chewed wiring and corroded pigtails, fix marker and brake light circuits, and repair the grounds that cause the flickering nobody can reproduce at the shop. ABS lamp on? We diagnose the sensor or modulator behind it rather than taping over the light.

Air, Brakes & Running Gear

Gladhands and airlines, chambers, slack adjusters out of stroke, shoes, drums, hub and wheel seals, and the leak-downs that fail a trailer at the port. Suspension work too — airbags, torn bushings, and hangers. Everything measured and written down, so you know exactly where the trailer stands for DOT.

Doors, Landing Gear & Liftgates

Roll-up doors off their tracks, swing door hinges and seals, cable and spring failures, landing gear that’s bent or stripped, and liftgates — hydraulics, gate batteries and charging, switches, and cylinders. Delivery trucks with dead gates are a specialty call: we’ll meet the truck on its route when that’s what saves the day. Call (928) 256-5150 with what’s broken and where the trailer’s dropped.

Trailer Questions

My trailer lights are out and I have a load scheduled. How fast can you come?

Lighting calls are usually same-day inside the Yuma area — shorts, chewed harnesses, bad grounds, and pigtail problems are bread-and-butter mobile work. A trailer with dead lights isn't crossing a port of entry, so we treat it like the down vehicle it is.

Do you fix liftgates on site?

Yes — hydraulic and electrical faults, dead batteries and charging circuits on the gate, switches, and cylinder leaks on common gate brands. A box truck with a dead gate can't deliver; we come to the route or the yard and get it cycling.

Can you repair trailer air brakes where the trailer is dropped?

That's the normal case. Chambers, airlines and gladhands, slack adjusters, shoes and drums, and leak-downs are all workable at a drop yard or dock — and a dropped trailer is the easiest thing in the world for us to schedule around.

Do you work on reefer trailers too?

Yes — the trailer side (brakes, lights, doors, landing gear, floors) and the reefer unit side both. If it's the refrigeration unit acting up, see our reefer trailer service page or just say so when you call; loaded reefers get priority.

A DOT inspection red-tagged my trailer. Can you clear the items?

Send us the inspection sheet. Out-of-service items — brakes, lights, airlines, flat or mismatched tires we can coordinate, securement points — get fixed where the trailer sits and documented, so it goes back in service without a dead-head to a shop.

Trailer Out of Service?

Fixed where it sits — dock, yard, or shoulder.
